It's comforting to know that in this age of quick profits and high turnover, there are still businesses that pride themselves on a personal connection. Calgary-based Celebrating Change is that kind of business, and owner Jonn Renay is a highly motivated individual who inspires his clients to be the same way.  Jonn's business, years in development, has been built on his many talents and one basic premise:  helping people.  "I went into coaching," he says, "because I wanted to help people who wanted to be better in what they do."

All of us want to achieve goals and overcome barriers yet few of us can find our way through the maze of daily events and still remain focused.  Renay, a master practitioner in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) focuses his clients by combining his conventional training with a talent for storytelling and insightful metaphors.  Renay's professional credentials are extensive, spanning NLP certification programs, and certification courses in Time Line Therapy TM, hypnosis, behavioural coaching, and performance enhancement.  He has the unique ability to combine many of these studies utilizing them to assist his clients.

Renay started his NLP training because he was fascinated with language, and how it affects behaviour and patterns in daily life.  Interestingly, Jonn was already attuned to these patterns, and though he'd done many of these things intuitively, he wanted more.  "I thought," Renay says, "how could I put this in a structured way, to do what I'd always done naturally?  Here was a model I could use to affect change."  With that model and other credentials as building blocks, Renay has successfully blended those intuitive talents to create positive and specific coaching methods.  Those methods are at least partially inspired by Jonn's admiration for one of NLP's most influential authorities:  Wyatt Woodsmall.  "I really admire Wyatt," says Renay, "because he's very caring, very spiritual, and also very concrete."

Renay's approach is also very concrete, and he is renowned for his abililty to guide clients in identifying their aspirations and crafting a plan to achieve them.  Combine that solid methodology with an insatiable curiosity and a genuine passion for the well-being of his clients and you have a dynamic coach, mentor, and guide.  "I have a craving for learning," says Renay, "a craving for knowledge."  That desire to learn makes Renay an ideal change agent, an individual open to new events and situations.

Renay's friends and colleagues have remarked that he's not a "cookie cutter kind of person," not someone who fits into a traditional mold.  It's true in his personal style and in his professional advice.  Jonn has specific goals in mind and he's an expert at guiding clients to achieve their personal best by using all the expertise at his disposal.  Jonn's practice also has a personal touch; unlike other businesses his approach is face to face and one on one.  He remarked recently that so much of a client-coach interaction depends on "reading" body language, indicators that can only be evaluated face to face, not by phone, not by computer, nor other technology.  Jonn is also determined to provide clients with the highest quality experience.  "I want to give the client the maximum of my resources, my time and my energy," says Renay.  We often ask what is the value, what is it that you value?  To me, integrity is my highest value."

Integrity is a rare thing these days and for those considering re-evaluating their life or business goals, a professional's integrity should be the first thing they require.  Jonn Renay's Celebrating Change provides that and it continues to help both individuals and organizations.  And Jonn's own goals?  "I want to make an impact in peoples lives," he says, "I want to give a person maximum value for what they pay for. I want you to come out of here and say, 'Jonn is really good at what he does; he really helped me; I want you to go see Jonn.'"
